Adam and Todd Chitester competed in the Thunder Road Marathon on Saturday morning. It was unusually cold for Charlotte (we left the house at 8.00 AM and the thermometer read 18 degrees). Mae reminded me of the kid from The Christmas Story who couldn't put his arms down. She joined in the cheering at mile seven. I don't know how encouraged the runners were by her ear piercing screams. With that in mind, I dropped the kids at the Sheldons' and met Adam at the finish line. He finished the half marathon just under his personal goal (1.44). Next year, we're praying for milder weather.
