Jack was a sheep in his school play. He looks happy here, but his initial reaction to the casting was a little teary. It seems he thought he was picked to be an angel. He announced this over dinner one evening and then burst into tears. When we got to the heart of the problem he tearfully told us he thought all angels were girls. (Pop culture has truly perverted that image!) Adam told him about all of the angels in scripture, assuring him that they were powerful, mighty, and even scary. "In fact," Adam said, "the angel who guarded the garden of Eden, once Adam and Eve were ousted, wielded a sword." "Cool," Jack exclaimed, "can I carry a sword in the play." That would have made for a more interesting nativity.
Opening gifts at Mimi and G-daddy's. Jack has been busy putting together all of his little Lego kits.
We can't believe how much of it he can do on his own. He's also been a whiz with the Lincoln Logs.
Mae "helped" everyone open gifts this year. Aunt Amy is expecting their first child in March. The kids can't wait for a new cousin in the family. Mae is a little obsessed with babies.
