Memorial Day Weekend

This year's beach trip held many firsts. Jack rode his two wheeler with Mom and Dad every morning and afternoon to the beach. And Mae (sans diaper) decided that snacking was not the main event. The kids spent hours playing in the tidal pools (some pools were up to their chests and over their heads), making drip castles, taking walks, and creating sea creatures out of sand. Unfortunately, both kids ended up with a mean rash (Jack spends most weeks with a strange hive like rash that we've grown to ignore), but these rashes were so crazy that they asked other kids and adults on the beach about their own rashes.
We also had fun on the sound. Jack tried his hand at fishing - not a great activity for someone who is not blessed with the gift of patience. And we took the kids out in the kayaks one afternoon. The weather was incredible. We can't wait to get back in August!
